Document Description
Rehabilitate the Blacksmith Shop at Sutter's Fort State Historic Park to provide park visitors with an improved interpretive experience. Work will" For the floor: * Where needed, remove up to 3" of soil to level the floor; * Sweep up the loose dirt and screen for any cultural material. Rebury any found materials within the park and scatter screened dirt at the park; and * Cap worn areas of the floor with soil cement. For the walls: * Use a spray pump and sponge to gently hand wash walls with clean water; * Patch and repint bricks where necessary and then paint with a silicate based breathable masonry paint that matches the patina of the existing color; etc.
