Holes will be attempted as deep as 50 feet if rock is not encountered. Soil samples will be collected and the groundwater level will be measured. Techniques will include SPT, and California ring samples will be collected typically at 5 foot intervals. Holes will be backfilled with the boring spoils along with supplemental local soils to compensate for samples taken. The site will be left in a nearly identical original condition. A truck-mounted rig will be used from the shoulder of the road to access the hole sites.
