Document Description
The Monta Vista High School improvements projects would be completed in three phases. Phase 1 includes constructing a new two story addition to Building B with a new bridge connecting Building B to Building D. The two-story addition would be 4,000 square feet in size and would contain four classrooms. Phase 1 also includes HVAC, fire alarm and lighting upgrades to Building B, a new parking lot adjacent to Building B, and replacing the grass at McClellan Road with drought tolerant planting. Phase 2 includes reconfiguring the gym lobby to include a dance room and ASB classroom on the second floor, fire alarm upgrades, and a new outdoor stage at the rally court, pedestrian path of travel improvements, and removing five portable classroom buildings from the campus. Phase 3 includes fire alarm and HVAC upgrades.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed improvements are minor and would occur within the boundary of the existing Mona Vista High School campus. There would be no increase in classrooms on the campus upon completion of the proposed improvements. Therefore, the proposed project would not increase original capacity by more than 25 percent of ten classrooms.
