Document Description
This project will provide geotechnical services to identify the soil conditions on Oso Flaco Rd, adjacent to the Oso Flaco Lagoon. The consultant will perform: 1. four exploratory borings using a truck mounted drill rig to depths up to 60 feet or refusal on bedrock, whichever is shallower, 2. obtain representative soil and rock samples from the test pits, 3. backfill the test pits with road base similar to existing requirements. Excavation will only occur in the existing road bed and will not disturb native vegetation on the site. No silt laden water will be allowed to enter Oso Flaco Lake. Appropriate sediment control will be in place for excavated material. Geotechnical investigation will occur outside the recognized breeding bird season. Activities will occur from September 15-February 15. All equipment on site will be free of leaks and in good operational condition.
