Document Description
SWRCB, as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit. The City of Tustin constructed an 860 feet deep, 1650 gallon per minute well, with a 450 Horse Power pump, to help improve groundwater production and reliability. In the process, the city of Tustin also constructed a 2,000 square foot building to the house the well and a chlorine gas disinfection treatment system. A waste water discharge system was also installed within the building and includes a flow meter, setting basin, sand separator, and air gap discharge to the storm drain. Two chlorine gas cylinders are housed on site as part of the disinfection system. A metering tube and ejector feeds the gas into a 1 inch PVC to create a chlorine situation. A caustic storage container and recirculation pump is also included as part of the system. The construction of the well and disinfection system was completed on October 1, 2016. This project will provide for the operation of the well and disinfection facilities.
