Document Description
Permittee proposes to conduct restoration and remediation activities in response to the Crimson Pipeline Grove Incident. On June 23, 2016, a leak from a 10-inch diameter oil pipeline next to Hall Canyon Road resulted in oil spilling from the 10-inch pipeline. The oil drained down slope to a culvert that passes under Hall Canyon Road. Oil traveled through the culvert outlet and flowed down a drainage channel from the east side of Hall Canyon Road, where it entered Prince Barranca. Currently, the passive removal of remaining oil is taking place using a bioremediation agent that works to degrade residual hydrocarbon concentrations. Irrigation lines have been installed in several areas of the Barranca to facilitate and sustain the bioremediation agents.
