Document Description
Conduct interior structural and exterior geotechnical investigations at the Vikingsholm turret in Emeral Bay State Park to identify soil conditions and guide structural stabilization efforts. Interior testing will involve drilling two (2) holes (1/4" - 1" maximum) in two (2) different locations to verify the framing structure of the turret. Exterior testing involves the use of hand augers to drill three (3) 5-15 foot (or refusal, whichever is shallower) borings. Representative soil samples will be recorded for future analysis and borings will be back filled with excavated materials.
