Document Description
The City proposes to extend Park Place from Allied Way to Nash Street with a railroad grade separation(s) in order to improve traffic and circulation in the project area. Park Place currently exists in two segments with a roughly quarter mile gap across an undeveloped area which consists of UPRR and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad spurs. The project would implement a cap closure to develop a Park Place as an alternative east-west route between Sepulveda Blvd and Douglas Street to relieve congestion along portions of Rosecrans Avenue and Sepulveda Blvd, as well as to improve local traffic circulation and access to and from the I-105 freeway. Caltrans District 7 is the lead agency under the NEPA, while the city is the lead agency under CEQA.
