Document Description
The project is limited to the construction of an off-channel salmonid rearing habitat pond on Lower French Creek, located on river-right approximately .30 miles downstream from the Highway bridge crossing over French Creek. The pond will provide favorable temperature and low velocity rearing habitat. The proposed project as described involves the excavation of a pond and access channel, which measures approximately .10 acres in size. The connection point, where the access channel keys into the bank, has been designed to ensure volitional fish passage while minimizing scour and sediment deposition, and will connect to glide within the French Creek system. The pond is designed to be a minimum of feet deep from the base-flow water surface elevation to preserve volume year-round and allow for thermal stratification. All work shall be in accordance with submitted plans and diagrams and any subsequent revisions approved by CDFW in writing.
