Document Description
The Friends of El Mirage (FOEM) will implement a Ground Operations Project working under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Barstow Field Office to do general ground maintenance in the 25,850 acres of open areas in the El Mirage Subregion. Maintenance activities include trash removal, restroom cleaning, and repair and maintenance of trails, roads, signs, and fences. FOEM proposes maintenance and trail signing in the Black Mountain (287 miles), Fremont Peak (409 miles), Coolgradie (264 miles), and El Mirage (190 miles) Subregions. The project funds an archeologist to survey trails prior to maintenance and signing activities to prevent impacts to cultural resources. FOEM will also proint maps to reflect the changes in route designations.
