Document Description
The City of Weed prepared an Initial Study and adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the Bypass Water Supply Pipeline Project on December 8, 2016. Subsequently, two additional Addendums to the MND were prepared in 2017 and 2018 to address additional improvements. Following adoption of the MND and two previous Addendums to the MND, City staff and PACE Engineering re-evaluated the project area and determined that additional improvements were needed to ensure reliable water service to the City’s customers. The City proposes to amend the approved project to include the abandonment of existing water main; installation of new water main, water services, water meter boxes, and fire hydrants; and reconnection of existing water services within the City limits. Additionally, electrical service would be extended along Sullivan Avenue to a new supervisory valve at SR 97 and the eastern end of the existing 4-inch water main on College Avenue would be capped. All proposed improvements would occur within paved public road rights-of-way (ROWs) and previously disturbed private driveways.
