Document Description
The new concrete tank would be a different shape than the existing tank. The shape of the new tank allows Cal Water to increase storage capacity at the MPS Station 6 site by approximately nine percent (3.05 vs. 2.8 million gallons) while at the same time reducing the surface area occupied by the tank by approximately 20% (24,806 sf vs. 30,976 sf). The new tank would increase storage capacity within the Cal Water's Bayshore District and improve the efficiency and reliability of the District's water distribution system, especially during a seismic related event. Cal Water would not modify the exterior of the existing pump station, other than the addition of new, exterior lighting.
