Document Description
An act of the CA Legislature in 1951 created the District to perform wastewater collection and treatment , and water recycling services for all property within the boundaries of Fairfield Suisun City, and Travis Air Force Base. The District also operates a drainage maintenance utility that performs specified stormwater management services in conjunction with the cities in its service area. Establishment of the District has enabled well-coordinated management of local wastewater and stormwater. The primary purpose of the Proposed Project/Action is to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the secondary treatment process aeration system. There are several issues with the existing aeration system including leaking air header piping, obsolete and inefficient blowers, lack of properly sized redundant equipment, and electrical gear that has exceeded its useful design life. The secondary treatment process is one of the most critical processes in the plant and any prolonged disruption to the aeration system could severely impact the District's ability to meet its discharge requirements. For these reasons, the District has decided to undertake this project.
