Document Description
The ("CDFW") proposes to repair an existing rock gabion erosion control structure. The structure was originally built on Slinkard Creek in 1986 to stop head cut erosion from draining a wet meadow on the Slinkard-Little Antelope Wildlife Area. This gabion structure also functions as a key barrier to fish passage, protecting a refuge for Lahontan cutthroat trout (LCT) from non-native brook trout that occupy the lower portions of the creek. LCT are listed as threatened under the Federal Endangered species act and CDFW has been delegated management authority for the species.
