Forestry and Fire Protection, Department of
El Dorado Estates Shaded Fuel Break
NOE - Notice of Exemption
The project consists of a shaded fuel break located adjacent to the Eldorado Hills Subdivision, approximately 3-miles northeast of the city of Ukiah. CAL Fire hand crews will reduce surface and ladder fuels by cutting, piling, burning and chipping shrubs and understory trees for the purpose of reducing the fire hazard to subdivision residences.
The project meets the requirements of a CEQA Article 19 Class 4 Categorical Exemption, consisting of minor public/private alterations in the condition of land, water and vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature & scenic trees except for forestry or agricultural purposes. The California Natural Diversity Data Base was searched and non-rare, threatened or endangered plant or animal species were identified on the project site that will be negatively impacted by this project.
