Document Description
The new facility is needed to accommodate an initial occupancy of approx. 900 personnel. Existing facilities are undersized and do not meet adjacency requirements for the various and complex functions of the dept. The proposed project will combine all required elements into one central location and also provide adequate security for department employees. The proposed project involves construction ofa new multi-facility campus with one- and two- story buildings (approx. 300,000 sq. ft.) on approx. 30 acres to support the administrative and management activities of the Headquarters, CMD. Specifically, the Project will accommodate the following general uses: Office space/personnel headquarters for nearly 40 directorates Operations management facility Associated parking Visitor parking Security post and entry control ID check stations Identification card issue building Employee fitness center and locker rooms Organizational equipment storage for assigned personnel Warehouse/storage space Enclosed refuse/trash containment area Flexible use spaces including classrooms, meeting and training facilities, and an auditorium Central utility plant may be required Reserve space for small future commercial/retail building Employee cafeteria with both indoor and outdoor seating areas Outdoor seating/amphitheater REserved space for local first responder agency, Mobile Command Vehicles
