Document Description
The District, in partnership with the Lake Hemet Municipal Water District, is proposing to design, construct, operate and maintain the Bautista Recharge Basin expansion project. The recharge project is being designed to promote infiltration and increase recharge in the Hemet-San Jacinto Valley groundwater basin areas. The project includes construction of 6 earthen infiltration basins that will allow stormwater and surplus water to pond until it infiltrates into the ground. Water will enter the site and begin ponding within the southernmost basin and then be allowed to spillover via concrete spillway or concrete pipe structure, each which will be connected into the subsequent downstream basins flowing from south to north. A secondary source of water will be from surplus imported water via a pipeline from under Cedar Avenue that will be constructed as part of the project.
