Document Description
The proposed new motor vehicle and emissions testing and research facility will include construction of multiple buildings, site ingress/egress onto Iowa Ave and possibly Cranford Ave. The buildings will be affixed with several high bay doors to allow for material/equipment shipping/receiving and ingress/egress of large vehicles, trucks, and mechanical equipment. The new facility will be designed to accommodate approximately 415-460 employees. The site will include exterior parking for employees and the public, fleet, and testing vehicles. It is assumed that any infrastructure improvements (water, sewer, electricity, natural gas, etc) would occur entirely within roadways rather than extend into off site undeveloped areas. ARB is assessing the feasibility of achieving net zero energy for the project; therefore, ARB expects to include photovoltaic panels, a thermal energy storage tank for chilled water, and electrical battery storage, and may include fuel cells.
