Document Description
UC Davis will replace the existing bridge with a wilder, more seismically stable structure. The new bridge will have 12 foot wide vehicular lanes, 8 foot wide bicycle lanes, and 6 foot wide pedestrian sidewalks supporting both north and south band travel .The project will also widen pedestrian walkways under the bridge to 10 feet and provide a minimum of 8 feet of vertical clearance as well as provide additional accessible paths to the lower arboretum.

Reasons for Exemption
The project qualifies as categorically exempt under Exemption Class 2 of the Guidelines for the implementation to the California existing facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity. Applicable mitigation measures from the 2003, LRDP EIR remain in effect for implementation of the project. In addition, none of the exceptions for application of a categorical exemption apply to this project.
