Document Description
Complete ADA Improvements in the Upper Summit parking lot at Mount Diablo State Park to provide improved and accessible facilities to park visitors. The project will install ADA compliant parking; improve existing stairs; install new path of travel between ADA parking spaces and new stairs/walkway; make restroom in visitor center ADA compliant; and ADA improvements to the interior of the visitor center.

The project consists of the minor alteration of existing public facilities involving no expansion of use beyond current levels; the reconstruction of existing structures where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity; the construction and installation of a limited number of new small facilities; the minor alterations in the condition of land that does not involve removal of healthy, mature scenic trees and is included as "modifications of existing facilities for handicap access," "installation park facilities such as interpretive panels, signs," in the Parks and Rec's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR 15300.4; and the modification of historic resources in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's standards for the Treatment of historic properties with guidelines for preserving, rehabilitating, restoring and reconstructing historic buildings (1995), Weeks and Grimmer.
