Document Description
Conduct aerial surveys using an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) at Bodie State Historic Park to capture data collection and condition information on cultural resources. Work will: document the current status of a number of iconic buildings; share data with the public; generate ultra-precise measurements and 3D models of structures; may be used for physical reconstruction of the site; produce digital data by terrestrial laser scanning and 3D mapping by close range airborne and ground photos; and produce orthorectified imagery and metadata documentation of buildings including character and features; aid future conservation projects. The UAS will operate up to 20 minutes per flight at a height of approximately 400' above ground level before and/or after park operating hours. Staff at Bodie State Historic Park will designate safe zones for emergency landings and keep park personnel a distance of at least 100' from the UAS while it is in operation.
