Document Description
The project proposal is to construct a ground mounted solar photovoltaic array on a 31.90-acre undeveloped parcel of land, and a canopy mounted PV array over an existing 7.0 acre parking lot, at the Genentech Pharmaceutical Campus located at 1000 New Horizons Way, in the City of Vacaville. The PV array would generate 8.9 MW of renewable energy, which would reduce the carbon intensity of energy used at the facility by 20%. The canopy mounted array would be enclosed with existing fencing, and the ground mounted array would be enclosed with a new 8 ft tall PVC chain link fence. The undeveloped parcel is relatively flat and vegetated with non-native annual grasslands, and disked once or twice a year to control vegetative growth. The existing parking lot contains landscaping, modular buildings and stalls.
