Document Description
Project involves the realignment of approx. 1,400 feet of SR 25 where it trends north-south, turns through a non-standard curve radius, and intersects with La Gloria Road. Between two points of conformance, the realigned segment of SR 25 would travel along an 850 foot radius curve on an elevated and banked roadbed with improved vertical and horizontal sight distances and wider shoulders. To accomplish the realignment work, the 1,400 foot segment of SR 25 will be removed, earthwork and free removal will be undertaken to create a new roadbed and shoulder backing along the more standard curve radius, a single existing culvert will be extended, and the new roadway will be paved. Restoration seeding and plantings will be established in those temporarily disturbed areas and those areas of the former roadbed which are not part of the new alignment. The Project will result in permanent impacts 0.73 acres of upland habitat for the CA tier salamander (Ambystoma californiense), and 1.82 acres of temporary impacts to the same. CA tiger salamander is listed as threatened under CESA. Permittee will mitigate the project-related impacts to the Covered Species by purchasing 4.18 credits from the CDFW-approved Sparling Ranch Conservation Bank prior to initiating the Project.
