The County's five-year strategic plan includes the "Safety and Security Initiative" to provide for the safety and security of the public. Through the initiation of the General Plan Amendment Safety Element Update, the County will be effectively planning and providing coordinated emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation capabilities for both natural and man-made disasters, such as floods and wildfires.
