The 2016 AQMP identifies control measures and strategies to bring the region into attainment with the revoked 1997 8-hour National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS or standard) (80 ppb) for ozone by 2024; the 2008 8-hour ozone standard (75 ppb) by 2032; the 2012 annual PM 2.5 standard (12 ug/m3) by 2025; the 2006 24-hour PM2.5 standard (35 ug/m3) by 2019; and the revoked 1979 1-hour ozone standard (120 ppb) by 2023. The 2016 AQMP consists of three components: 1) the SCAQMD's Stationary, Area, and Mobile Source Control Measures; 2) State and Federal Control Measures provided by the ARB; and 3) Regional Transportation Strategy Control Measures provided by the Southern CA Association of Governments. The 2016 AQMP includes emission inventories and control measures for stationary, area and mobile sources, the most current air quality setting, updated growth projects, new modeling techniques, demonstration of compliance with state and federal Clean Air Act requirements, and an implementation schedule for adoption of the proposed control strategy.
