This project will involve developing a software platform that measures energy usage by end-use devices in real time and provides electricity the capability to manage the consumption of those devices in response to changes in electricity price, demand response signals, and/or other information about real-time grid conditions.
This project will install software at existing retail locations and at the residential test sites to monitor electricity loads and feedback real-time energy consumption data, such as ramp rates, state of charge, and load condition, to analyze the efficacy of load management. The monitoring software will reside in a computer already owned by the participant or provided under this project. Therefore, the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and falls within section 15306.
