Document Description
Vandalia, a community within the City of Porterville (City), and East Porterville, an unincorporated community in Tulare County, currently do not have a public water system and residents have historically received household water by private wells. The area is underlain by a shallow aquifer that is recharged by flow from the Tule RIver. Because of the ongoing drought and limited surface flows in the Tule River, the aquifer is experiencing a significant drawdown resulting in wells drying up.
