Document Description
SMUD proposes to install a 100 foot long steel pole that will be used to support two 115kV circuits. There is a set of poles that currently exist in the transmission easement and they support two 115kV lines consisting of 6 wires and two fiber optic communication circuits. The pole will be directly embedded 15 feet into the ground with the diameter of the hole measuring approximately four feet. Once construction is complete the pole will be 85 feet tall at finished grade. This pole will be directly embedded 15 feet into the ground with the diameter of the hole measuring approximately four feet. Once construction is complete the pole will be 85 feet tall at finished grade. This pole will assist in reducing the span between the existing poles from 595 feet to 476 feet there by eliminating additional sag in the line when temperatures increase and to also decrease the blowout of the line when high winds occur.
