Document Description
This proposed project involves remediation of tidal and submerged offshore sediments and upland soils which contain elevated concentrations of metals, total petroleum hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The offshore areas contain various marine debris and remnants from former in-water structure. Offshore remediation will include removal of debris, dredging of sediments, and placement of backfill material. Upland remediation includes removal of abandoned structures, other debris, and contaminated sediments. This ITP Amendment (Minor Amendment No. 1) extends the ITP expiration date to November 30, 2021. The Project will result in impacts to 1.504 acres of Longfin Smelt (Spirinchus thaleichthys) and Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha). The project is expected to result in incidental take of Longfin Smelt and Spring Run Chinook, designated as threatened, and Winter Run Chinook Salmon which is designated as an endangered species under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
