Build Inc and San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department (RPD) would develop their respective adjacent parcels along the India Basin shoreline of San Francisco Bay. The project encompasses 38.84 acres of publicly and privately owned parcels, including streets. Build Inc would develop 23.06 acres with (depending on which of two options they proceed with) up to 1,240 residential units as well as retail; commercial; office; research and development/laboratory and clinical carespace; institutional; flex space; and recreational and art uses (up to 1,000,000 gsf). RPD would improve 15.78 acres to create a publicly accessible network of new and/or improved parkland and open space. RPD would build two replacement piers and one new pier, and Build Inc would remove one pier and build one new pier. Finally, the riprap edges would be replaced with tidal wetlands.
