Document Description
The California Department of General Services (DGS) is performing tenant improvements consisting of modernizing three public traction elevators. The traction elevators are located in the building near the main entry. The existing elevator shafts will remain. The upgrades include installation of new elevator controls that will allow the elevator to maintain a speed of 350 feet per minute and rated at 4,000 pounds. The existing elevator cab will be modernized, including new flooring, wall and ceiling treatments. The elevator car will have a minimum 4 foot wide door entrance.

The project is not in an environmentally sensitive area. The California Department of General Services confirms that no exception apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project.
