Present Land Use
The proposed project site is currently occupied by a 10 acre materials recovery facility/large volume transfer station, including a scale house and portable break room, operating under CUP. The site has a city general plan land use designation of employment center low rise and current zoning designations of light industrial with Solid waste restriction overlay.
Document Description
The proposed project would include the expansion of existing on site operations to allow for additional processing of materials already accepted at the site, including concrete and asphalt crushing, asphalt shingle grinding, and wood grinding activities, as well as construction of an on-site modular office building and a 1.5 acre material sales yard. The material sales yard is proposed as an ancillary operation and would be located outside, but adjacent to, the existing 10 acre CUP boundary, for a total proposed project area of 11.5 acres. The project would include an increase in the tons per day of material received by an additional 500 tons (primarily concrete and asphalt), for a total of 1,000 tons per day.
