Document Description
The El Dorado Irrigation District (district) proposes replacement of a section of earthen roadway crossing an unnamed, seasonal drainage ditch to access the El Dorado Lift Station and facilities storage yard. The existing roadway drainage crossing was 8 feet wide and has eroded over the years narrowing the paved area by approximately 6 -inches on each side of the crossing which has caused a safety problem for heavy-duty District operations vehicles to utilize the roadway. District staff proposes to maintain safe access to the El Dorado Lift Station facility yard by rebuilding the crossing and widening it to 12 feet, and then repaving the crossing surface. Project activities will occur during the dry summer months to ensure water is not present in the drainage ditch. All spoils will be disposed of in accordance with all applicable regulations. Standard fugitive dust and erosion control BMPs will be employed during and after the maintenance activities to reduce impacts to air and water quality. Activities will occur during the normal business hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will take approximately one week to complete. Equipment necessary for construction of the roadway crossing include: a hauling truck; backhoe; paving equipment, and safety equipment.
