Document Description
The project is limited to removal of an existing, but undersized and misaligned 48" culvert and construction abutments and anchoring a 30-foot long flat bed bridge spanning the channel of Fulton Gulch. Excavators will place concrete blocks, which will serve as the abutments on both approaches, elevating the bridge deck 5' above the channel bed. The blocks are designed to interlock with each other for secure fit and once the flat-bed bridge is raised onto the abutments, it will be secured to the anchored abutments. Large rock rip-rap will be placed adjacent to the blocks, forming the new streambank, to protect the abutments from scour.
