Document Description
The City of McFarland is proposing to construct a community garden on a 2.06 acre vacant site. The Community Garden will be enclosed all four sides by a wrought iron fence and will include a restroom facility, a storage shed, a small amphitheater, a re-circulating fountain, lighting and a small parking lot. Additionally the Community Garden will contain planter boxes, landscaping and trees. The Community Garden is also a part of the City's recreational trail system and as a result will have fitness equipment directly adjacent to the Community Garden.

The proposed Community Garden is exempt because it is located on an in-fill site that previously contained an agricultural packing shed that was demolished in 2013. The project site has historically been used for industrial operations and is not suitable habitat for any threatened or endangered species. Additionally the proposed project will not adversely impact the general health, safety and wellbeing of the citizens of McFarland.
