Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0097-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project, Applicant, Reclamation District 108. Project is limited to the following activities: Driving of sheet piling into the bed of the Knights Landing Ridge Cut (Ridge Cut) to create a temporary coffer dam to block downstream flows within the stream. These pilings would be removed at the completion of the project. Driving of permanent sheet pilings into the bed of the Ridge Cut to secure the upstream side of the new ater passage structures and the fish salvage facility. Temporary dewatering of the channel downstream of the existing earthen berm weir for a distance of approx. 300 feet. Driving of concrete pilings into the bed of the Ridge Cut to support a bridge for vehicle crossing of a new concrete weir and fish salvage facility. Placement of between 6 and 15 power poles along the existing water diversion canal adjacent to the west bank of the Ridge Cut to bring power to a structure control building. Construction and placement of six picket weirs as part of the new facility to prevent upstream movement of anadromous fish species that may have enter the Colusa Basin Drain system. Construction of a new concrete fish salvage/rescue facility integral to the new Weir being constructed. Removal of the existing water diversion control structure adjacent to the west bank of the Ridge Cut and its replacement with a new diversion control structure for the water supply canal. Removal of up to 1700 cubic yards of soils from the bed of the Ridge Cut down stream of the existing earthen berm weir for purposes of construction of an earthen berm integral to the new weir. Construction of a new vehicle access road to allow vehicular traffic to cross the new weir and access agricultural fields on the east side of the Ridge Cut. Construction of a temporary platform inside the west side flood control levee for placement of a crane during construction of the new weir and fish salvage facility Regarding of the bed of the Ridge Cut downstream of the new weir for a distance of approx.. 200 feet. Raising the height of the existing non-flood control levee. Placement of rock slope protection (Rip Rap) on the banks of the raised levee. Removal, as necessary of riparian vegetation, including mature cottonwoods and willows, as necessary to complete construction. Placement of a temporary fyke weir downstream of the project area. Creation of a temporary vehicle access road across Ridge Cut to allow farm equipment and construction vehicles to access area and agricultural fields.
