Document Description
The project involves forestry treatments to reduce wildfire risk and protect municipal water sources on approximately 500 acres of Plumas National Forest Lands. The project would treat approximately 250 acres near Lake Davis, including 130 acres of mechanical forest thinning and 120 acres of hand thinning. The project would also include approximately 250 acres of hand thinning near Round Valley Reservoir. Excess fuels would be piled and burned on site, and/or hauled off site for use in a biomass energy generation facility. The project includes design features, standard operating procedures, and other best management practices intended to minimize the negative environmental effects of the project.
