Document Description
Note: Review Per Lead Caltrans has determined that the Saratoga Creek Bridge (Bridge No. 37-0074) is structurally and seismically deficient. Caltrans is scoping 3 alignment alternatives: realignment to the north of the bridge, to the south of the bridge, or along the existing alignment. Caltrans is also analyzing 3 construction techniques; a bridge that mimics the look of the current bridge with a treatment, a bridge that mimics the look using reusing existing bridge stones, and one that is a modern bridge. The roadway alignment will be corrected for all alternatives to meet current Caltrans standards for shoulder widths, lane widths, and curve radii. Retaining walls will be constructed for all alternatives on both the up and down slopes along HWY 9 and Sanborn Rd. Construction easements outside of the Caltrans right of way and property acquisition may be required.
