Document Description
Due to inefficient and outdated building space and the presence of asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint contamination, Building 16 has been vacant since 1990. The project involves the demolition of Building 16, including the excavation of the building's basement. After the demolition and excavation, the excavated area may be developed as part of Civic Center Master Plan or be brought up to grade level with engineered fill. The project site will then be landscaped, mostly with turf. The proposed project is anticipated to start in summer of 2016 and is expected to take approximately two to three months to complete.
