The applicant proposes the expansion of an existing grandfathered cattle feed yard. The Feed yard has been in existence prior to the Imperial County Land Use Ordinance. The feed yard has operated since 1960. The feed yard ceased operations for 6 months from March 25, 2014 and was purchased on Sep 18, 2014. The feed yard currently manages about 4,500 cattle. The applicant proposes to double the amount of cattle by adding up to 4,500 cattle. The applicant proposes to add 68 shaded pens with drinkers, feed bunkers and an automatic sprinkler system for dust control. The feed yard is located on APN 040-310-018-000(+/-30 acres) and will expand into 30 acres of APN 040-310-019-000 (+/-95 acres) both properties are owned by the same owners.
