Document Description
For both security purposes and aesthetic appeal, the deadlocks and inside lever handles of many of the doors of the 1849 De la Ossa adobe need to be installed (security) or changed (aesthetic). Some of the doors do not have deadbolts installed, and merely have a small switch for locking, which would allow for easier unauthorized access. Additionally, when the doors with small locks are shaken either by a person or wind the security alarm can be falsely triggered. All locks should blend with the historic fabric of the adobe, and currently there is a combination of newer shiny silver locks and black or brown period-appropriate locks. The project proposes to install 2" deadbolts and lever handle sets in Rooms 2 and 3l 2 lever handles in Rooms 4b and 7; 7 silver deadbolts to be replaced in Rooms 1, 4a, 4b, 5, 6, 7, and 8; and 3 silver lever handles to be replaced in Rooms 1, 5, and 6.
