Document Description
Installation of Industrial Boiler Economizer. Through this demonstration project, Gas Technology Institute (GTI) will demonstrate an emerging heat recovery technology for industrial steam applications that require hot process water. The heat recovery system, called a "SideKick", will be installed and tested in a new application (industrial steam boilers). This new application offers the opportunity for substantial waste heat recovery resulting in increased fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) reductions. A unique feature of the technology is predesigned modules and exclusive software that determines size and flow requirements for precise sizing. The resulting reductions in application engineering and heat recovery hardware costs lead to lower installation costs and greater potential for market adoption. The technology will be demonstrated at Central Valley Meats in Hanford, CA. This project will independently document the energy efficiency, energy cost reductions, performance and installation requirements for this innovative approach to low cost industrial heat recovery.
