Document Description
The project entails replacing a 16-inch cast iron water conveyance pipeline identified as the P-Line with a 16-inch ductile pipeline. Approximately 1350 linear feet (lf) of pipeline will be replaced along the east side of Polhemus Road to the north side of Crystal Springs Road where it crosses San Mateo Creek along the edge of a double concrete box culvert. From there it runs parallel to the western creek bank and then ties into an existing water line on the west side of the San Mateo Creek. The existing northern end of the pipeline is attached to a decommissioned bridge and will be abandoned in place. The new pipeline is attached to a decommissioned bridge and will be abandoned in place. The new pipeline will be installed in a trench 3.5 feet wide by 5.8 feet deep. Approximately 10 to 30 feet on either side of the trenches will be disturbed by constructing the trenches, replacing the pipeline and backfilling. A small excavator will be used to dig the trenches. Issuance of a streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2015-0347-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
