Document Description
DWR proposes to continue implementation of a watercraft inspection and education program to prevent the introduction of quagga and zebra mussels at Pyramid Lake. The program will be operated by Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation (LADPR), under contract with DWR. LADPR will inspect watercraft for mussels entering and existing the water at Emigrant Landing, which is the only launch area at the lake for motorized watercraft. LADPR will also educate visitors of the threat to the lake from the spread of mussels with signage and handouts.
