Complete improvements on the existing History Trail - Cemetery Loop at the Bothe - Napa Valley State Park to bring the trail into compliance with the California State Parks accessibility guidelines and associated legal mandates. The project will relocate the trailhead and beginning of History Trail and reconstruct a trail that loops around the Pioneer Cemetery.

The project consists of the maintenance and minor alteration of existing public facilities involving no expansion of use beyond current levels, included as "modifications of existing facilities for disabled access"; the construction and location of a limited number of new facilities, included as "interpretive signing and panels"; and the minor public alteration in the condition of land and vegetation, included as "trail construction or realignment" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR §15300.4.
