Document Description
The project involves adjusting the subbasin boundaries of the Kern County Subbasin (5-22.14) descriped in Department of Water Resources (DWR) Bulletin 118. In 2014 California enacted three bills that are collectively known as the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Through this Act, among other things, local agencies are required to develop a Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) to manage groundwater basins toward the goal of long-term sustainability. SGMA also established a process for local agencies to request that DWR revise the boundaries of a groundwater basin on either a scientific or jusridictional basis.
