Document Description
The City of Santa Cruz Water Department (SCWD) is proposing to replace its two wells, Tait Wells No. 1 and 3, and rehabilitate Tait Well No. 4 (separate maintenance project). The proposed Tait Well No. 1B will be drilled immediately adjacent to Tait Well No. 1. The new well will be located in a road shoulder area which is currently part of the City's right-of-way, immediately adjacent to the existing well will be replaced and will not be exceeded by the new replacement well. The new well will consist of a 14-inch diameter well drilled to 100-feet deep, similar to the existing well. Tait Well No. 1B will connect to existing power, communicaiton, and water utilities.

Construction of two new replacement wells and the decommissioning of the existing wells before the new wells are operational. Therefore, the project will not result in expansion of the capacity of the wells.
