Document Description
Install seasonal fencing at Monterey State Beach, Fort Ord Dunes State Park, Marina State Beach, Salinas River State Beach, Moss Landing State Beach and Zmudowski State Beach to protect the nesting areas of the threatened western snowy plover. Annually, during the breeding season (approximately late February to mid-October) work will: - Install approximately 10 miles of "symbolic" post and cable fencing; - Install temproary informational and warning signs near nestling areas; and - Initiate closures, partial closures and/or seasonal closures of sensitive areas, re-route trails, alter visitor access points and direct special events away from nesting areas.
