Reasons for Exemption
The State CEQA guidelines provide a series of Categorical Exemptions for actions that have been deemed by the State Legislature to consist of project activities that would not normally result in a significant adverse impact on the environment and are therefore exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in the State CEQA Guidelines. The proposed conduct of geotechnical borings in San Juan Creek to support installation of a new railroad bridge across the Creek has been determined to qualify for a Categorical Exemption under paragraph 15304 of the State Guidelines.
