This is a forest restoration project involving minor alterations to land and vegetation. The Butte County Fire Safe Council, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, is requesting $379,693 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy Grant PRogram for site improvement/restoration activities on approximately 176 acres. Implementation of the Little Butte Creek Forest Health PRoject Phase II will reduce fuel loads on 176 acres of forested lands, which includes 50 acres of Paradise Irrigation District (PID) lands, 111 acres of National Forest (NF) lands, and 15 acres managed by the U.S Bureau of Land management (BLM).
